Hawaii Is Set to Launch a Blockchain Lab to Attract Crypto Companies

This initiative will be run for two years and it will allow companies that issue cryptocurrencies to do business in the state of Hawaii without the need to obtain state money transmitter license.

The governor of Hawaii has announced that this state is going to launch a Blockchain lab in order to further the development of Blockchain related technologies and also in order to attract companies and investments in the field of Blockchain. This announcement was made on March 17, and this lab is going to be launched based on a collaboration among the governor’s office, Hawaii’s department of commerce and consumer affairs, division of financial institution, and the Hawaii technology development corporation.

This initiative will be run for two years and it will allow companies that issue cryptocurrencies to do business in the state of Hawaii without the need to obtain state money transmitter license.

The aim of the state of the Hawaii and the governor’s office of this state is to implement this initiative in order to further the understanding of this state of the world of Blockchain and cryptocurrency.

Previously Hawaii had other policies in place with respect to Blockchain and cryptocurrencies. For example, in 2017, the state of Hawaii mandated all the companies that operated with the use of cryptocurrencies to hold a sum of the cryptocurrencies in the form of fiat money. This action drove so many Blockchain related companies and firms outside of Hawaii. But it seems that the state of Hawaii is changing its mind with regard to Blockchain and it is trying to fully embrace it.

In an exclusive video interview conducted with the help of Cointelegraph, the famous African rapper Akon talked about his vision for creating a cryptocurrency called Akoin.

This crypto platform will allow the tokenized trading of mobile phone credits, which would be a very good move from fiat-based transactions in this particular field in this continent of Africa.

In this interview Akon claimed that the use of mobile phone credits as a method for trading in the entire continent of Africa is what gave inspiration to him to create the cryptocurrency known as Akoin.

Further in this interview, Akon added, “ Many people don't really understand how Africa itself works. We have so many currencies in Africa. A lot of them are unstable, and most of them are untrusted. It got to the point where the day-to-day African people don't even use the currencies any more, they're using their cell phone minutes and credits as a way of trading for basic goods like produce, fish, fruits and things on the market.”

This famous rapper and entrepreneur is hoping to remedy this situation with the help of his cryptocurrency and Blockchain platform.

Amidst All the Rumors about Coronavirus, The Interplanetary File System (IPFS) Cannot Be Censored

The government of China is actively making many attempts to censor the circulation of information about the way it handled the outbreak of this virus in the country of China

The government of China is actively making many attempts to censor the circulation of information about the way it handled the outbreak of this virus in the country of China. It is also trying very hard to crush the mentioning of Dr. Li Wenlian, who warned about the spread of this virus and later on caught the virus and died from it. As a result, the people of China are turning toward decentralized protocols to share the news and information.

The Interplanetary File System or the IPFS is a protocol developed by the Protocol Labs and is considered an un-censorable version of the web. Some Chinese news outlets are saving their data based on this protocol so it is not censorable by any other entity, especially the Chinese government.

The current protocol of the web is run based on HTTP and according to this protocol every time a request is made it is sent to a single server that keeps the information, this means that if anything goes wrong, then the information can no longer be accessed. However, the Interplanetary File System or IPFS is a peer-to-peer protocol that allows users to get information and webpages from several servers, thus making it hard to block access to such information and webpages. It seems that once again the Blockchain technology has offered a solution for yet another problem.
